Day 3

I'm not done getting rid of stuff today, but my brother-in-law just called to tell us about a tv appearance for him and his lion cub, so I'm writing while the computer's turned on. You can see the lion cub here:

And you can see information about where the cub lives here:

But back to getting rid of things: tonight I cleaned out the hall closet where our games and bedding is stored. I ignored the bedding, since there's nothing I want to get rid of yet, but pulled everything out of the three or four shelves stuffed with board games and other junk for (fictional, at least at our house) family game nights.
I think some of the shelves have been tidied once or twice since we moved in four years ago, but the bottom shelf, as far as I can remember, hasn't. Ever. And boy, was it appalling.

Among the fuzzy ... somethings, dust, ponytail holders, tiny Christmas ornaments and other odd things that had established residence in the closet, we found four (maybe five) versions of Cranium, at least three varieties of Monopoly, two different Scene It games, and more playing cards than we know what to do with. The shelves are tidied, game pieces are mostly in zipper bags, and a system for keeping things in place is theoretically in place.

What did I get rid of? Two loads of games went to the back porch for later visits to Goodwill or a spring garage sale, one puzzle is designated for the nephews, and a garbage bag full of bits and pieces is at the curb with the rest of tomorrow's trash.
